TTDA (Taicang Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association) is a regional, industry related, and non-profit social entity organization which was initiated and founded by Taicang International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. along with the local timber & wood products merchants, processing companies, logistics, forwarders, terminals and related port authorities. It was officially founded in December 2011 with the approval of Taicang Civil Affairs Bureau, and carried out the work under the guidance of CTWPDA (China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association) and Taicang Federation of Industry & Commerce (Taicang General Chamber of Commerce). It is ranked vice chairman unit of the Seventh Council of CTWPDA as well as the standing unit of Taicang Federation of Industry & Commerce (Taicang General Chamber of Commerce) administrative committee.

TTDA was born under the active advocacy of Taicang municipal Party committee as well as Taicang municipal government for the sake of a booming timber import business and timber industry in Taicang Port. Via the functions of communication & negotiation, formulating policy & regulations, setting up standards & rules, providing professional guidance and policy negotiation, TTDA devoted itself to assisting the government bodies to develop a regulated and ordered timber industry.

Many achievements have been made ever since TTDA was founded. Taicang timber import business and timber industry has embraced a rapid development, which helped Taicang Port rank among China Top Ten Timber Import Ports twice. In 2012, with the assistance of TTDA, the Second World Congress on Timber and Wood Products Trade was successfully held by CTWPDA, which expanded Taicang timber industry’s influence at home and abroad.
