Wood and Wood Products Conference 2025

On September 5, the 2025 conference on wood and wood products, co-sponsored by the China Timber and wood products circulation association and Shandong Port Group, was successfully held in Rizhao. The theme of the conference was“Openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation”, gathered from Russia, Belarus, Japan, Finland, Germany, Gabon, Cameroon and other 20 countries of enterprises, business associations and international organizations on behalf of more than 1,000 people, talking about the new trend of wood trade, explore the sustainable development path of wood industry.

Symposium on“From forest to market-building sustainable tropical timber trade supply chain”

On September 4, the China timber and wood products circulation association and the German International Cooperation Agency held a seminar on“From forest to market: building a sustainable tropical timber trade supply chain” in Rizhao. The event attracted nearly 100 guests from China, Germany, Africa and other countries and regions to share and discuss about promoting the sustainability and traceability of tropical timber exported from Africa, it provided a platform for China, Germany and African stakeholders to communicate.

China-papua new Solomon Islands sustainable timber trade forum

On 5 September, the china-pasin Solomon sustainable timber trade fair, co-hosted by the China timber and wood products circulation association and FSC China Office, was held in Rizhao, Shandong province. International representatives from Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Australia, Norway, the United Kingdom and other countries, as well as domestic timber industry experts, academics and business representatives attended the meeting. The successful holding of the meeting not only enhanced mutual understanding and trust among the three parties in the field of sustainable timber trade, but also set up a regular platform for communication and cooperation.

Promoting the integration of industry and finance

The first conference on high-quality development of China Wood Industry (Dalian Forum) 

On November 18, the first China Wood industry high-quality development conference (Dalian Forum) was successfully held. The theme of the conference is“Linkage between future and present and financing the future”, attracting more than 600 experts from government departments, financial institutions, leading Wood Enterprises, scientific research institutes and industries. The assembly will focus on building a high-end dialogue platform between the solid wood industry and the financial industry, laying a solid foundation for the efficient docking of industry and capital. Looking forward to the future, China's wood industry will actively explore the innovation model of deep integration of current and future and financial enabling entities, and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of wood industry.

Research activities of log industry chain

May 12-16, in order to deeply understand the development trend of China's log industry chain and promote the deep integration of financial instruments and the real industry, china timber and wood products circulation association organized a survey of the China Timber Association's log industry chain. This survey brought together industry experts, representatives of timber enterprises and financial institutions to sort out the development status and innovation cases of the log industry chain through on-site visits and seminars, to provide reference for the development of enterprises and financial practice.

Industry Symposium on import log quarantine policy and related issues

On March 19, an industry symposium on quarantine policies and related issues for imported logs, sponsored by the general administration of customs and China timber and wood products circulation association, was held in Beijing. During the meeting, the parties had in-depth exchanges on issues such as the US log import policy and timber quarantine, collected the needs of companies importing US logs, and discussed solutions, as far as possible to reduce the economic losses of enterprises importing American logs. The convening of this symposium will lay a solid foundation for regulating China's timber trade and promoting the high-quality development of China's timber industry.

Reflect“Resume imports of hardwood logs from the United States”

On August 21, the China timber and wood products circulation association wrote to the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of customs about the impact on the industry of the suspension of imports of hardwood logs from the United States, and put forward relevant suggestions. This initiative actively conveys the core demands of the industry, showing the association actively coordinate and promote the bridge role of problem-solving.

Providing data services

China's timber and wood products import and export monthly report

Monthly“Import and export report of wood and wood products” is regularly published to collect key data of the industry and help enterprises to study and judge the situation and make scientific decisions. From January to November in 2025, China's timber imports showed a downward trend, with timber imports of 60.497 million cubic meters, down 11% year on year.

Co-building green supply chain

Promote activities related to green supply chain development and capacity building of enterprises

(1) . On May 22, an exchange event on capacity building for wildlife conservation and sustainable development was successfully held in Guangzhou. The event was hosted by China Wildlife Protection Association, China Aquatic Products Circulation and processing association, China Traditional Chinese Medicine Association and China Timber and wood products circulation association, more than 130 representatives from various industries participated in the event, which was co-organized by the International Wildlife Trade Research Organization (UK) Beijing Representative Office. At the roundtable on the timber industry, delegates discussed the implementation of the European Zero Deforestation Act (EUDR) and the expansion of the CITES Appendix, deepening the understanding of timber companies on laws and regulations related to the management of endangered wildlife, this will help promote the sustainable development of the timber industry.

2. Developing and improving the timber legality lists of Cameroon, the Congo -BrazzavilleilleGabonabon and other countries to help enterprises select qualified suppliers and promote the application of the“LisB2B B2B” model, promoting the development of China's green wood supply chain.

3. Revising the Convention on self-regulation of China Timber and wood products circulation association, developing the guidelines on corporate social responsibility of China timber and wood products circulation association, and carrying out relevant publicity to strengthen enterprise capacity building, promoting industry self-regulation.

Promoting international exchange

China-france wood meeting

On April 16, the sino-french wood docking meeting jointly hosted by the timber importers and exporters branch of China timber and wood products circulation association and the French Embassy in Beijing was successfully held. During the meeting, representatives discussed the sino-french timber trade policy, market conditions. Chinese and French business representatives exchanged views on specific cooperation projects and intentions and reached a series of preliminary consensus.

China timber delegation visits Japan

From June 3 to 11, a delegation organized by China timber and wood products circulation association went to Japan to visit the 2025 international nonresidential wooden architecture exhibition, in-depth understanding of Japan's cutting-edge technologies, innovative applications and sustainable development experience in the field of wood structure construction. The delegation went to“Okayama, Fukuoka, Miyazaki” and other areas to open up timber procurement channels and visit leading timber trading and processing enterprises on the spot, it laid a practical foundation for promoting sino-japanese timber trade and technology exchange.

China's timber delegation visits Belarus

From June 23 to 28, a delegation led by China timber and wood products circulation association visited Belarus. At the China White Wood Symposium, i will exchange discussions with the Belorussian forestry wood processing pulp production and Paper Industry Production and Trade Konzern company (hereinafter referred to as“Belorussian Paper Workers” Konzern) , the Belarusian Ministry of Forestry, and the Belarusian Commodity Exchange, at the meeting, we signed a roadmap for 2025-2026-2026. In addition, the delegation made on-the-spot visits to local institutions, forest farms, trade and processing enterprises, etc. , and gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Belarus's forest resources and timber industry, this laid the foundation for future cooperation between China and Belarus.

China Timber Association representatives visit Indonesia

From November 30th to December 5th, representatives of camu went to Indonesia to attend the 10th Asean Workshop on ensuring timber legality and traceability, and visited local enterprises. In-depth understanding of the timber trade situation in other countries, changes in timber legality-related policies, and new technologies in timber tracking systems have laid a good foundation for continuous exchanges and cooperation between China and tropical timber supplier countries.

China Timber Association representatives visit Gabon and Cameroon

From 7 to 15 December, representatives of the China timber and wood products circulation association went to Gabon and Cameroon for a study tour, visiting forestry-related institutions and timber enterprises in the two countries, the local forest resources and timber supply chain were investigated, which provided support for the follow-up promotion of timber legitimacy certification and green supply chain construction in Central Africa.

Departure year 2026

In 2025, focusing on the development of the industry and the needs of enterprises, we have actively set up an industry dialogue platform and carried out a series of practical work, achieving solid results in serving and leading the industry.
